The Importance of Successful Framing

Have you ever wondered why two different leaders presenting the same solution, to the same situation, to the same audience, often get a different response? Why should this be, given that the solution, the situation and the audience are one & the same?

The answer lies in Successful Framing.

Whilst one leader is able to elegantly & eloquently frame for his audience what the Situation is, what the Solution should be, what does Success look like when the solution is in place, who the key Stakeholders are, what the key Steps are, as well as the Strategy for a smooth implementation; his unsuccessful counterpart is unfortunately unable to do so.

All things being equal, whoever frames better wins. Just like a photographer taking a picture. Or a poet waxing eloquent. Or a writer producing prose. Or a philosopher presenting a perspective. Framing the picture, poem, prose or perspective well means an agreeing & happy audience, psychologically owning & emotionally enjoying the moment.

In Leadership, it is important to be able to get one's point across, and to do so with simplicity, mastery & impact.

Getting one's point across with simplicity, mastery & impact has an element of Wisdom. Wisdom = Intelligence + Good Judgement + Eloquence. Getting one's point across with simplicity, mastery & impact also has an element of Successful Framing.

In my mind, there are Six S to Successful Framing. They are:

1.) Frame what the Situation looks like?

2.) Frame what the Solution should be?

3.) Frame what does Success look like?

4.) Frame who are the key Stakeholders?

5.) Frame what are the key Steps?

6.) Frame what is the Strategy for smooth implementation?

Become a better leader today. Be more inspiring... get more impact... win more support... with your messages. Up your ability to influence others by getting your points across well. Learn to successfully & wisely frame your arguments & perspectives. If you do it well, your audience will not only agree with you... but when & in agreeing with you, believe & feel that they have done the right thing, that they had made the right choice, taken the right option, and made the right decision.
